SUMMARY:Disability Badminton Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop aims to develop your knowledge\, awareness and confidence to deliver badminton sessions to a range of various impairments disabled participants might have. \n\nOn this workshop\, you will cover the following areas:\nUnderstanding movement and hitting for wheelchair badminton.\nUnderstanding the implications for coaching badminton to disabled participants with standing lower impairments.\nUnderstanding the implications for coaching badminton to disabled participants with standing upper impairments.\nUnderstanding the implications for coaching badminton to short stature participants.\n\nThe workshop will breakdown as follows: \n\nIntroduction to the workshop & tutor (15mins)\nMovement in wheelchair badminton (30mins)\nHitting actions in wheelchair badminton (50mins)\nCoaching standing lower impairments in badminton (25mins)\nCoaching standing upper impairments in badminton (25mins)\nCoaching short stature participants in badminton (25mins)\nSummary (10mins)\n\nWhat to bring with you\nPlease come prepared to be active on court for the duration of the workshop. Therefore\, suitable sports attire and a badminton racket is required.
